If you are planning to stay in cottages Vistula Valley at 39 Wyzwolenia Street in Wisła, you are probably wondering: „What is in the vicinity? What can you see without a long drive?”
The good news: quite a lot.
Below you will find a specific list of attractions, which you can reach on foot or in a few to several minutes by car.
1. Adam Małysz Ski Jump – approx. 1 km from the cottages
From the Vistula Valley, you have approximately 1 kilometre to the famous Adam Małysz ski jump in Wisła-Malinka. It is one of the town's most important attractions – top-level competitions are held here, and it can be visited by ordinary tourists throughout the year.
On site, you can:
approach the ski jump itself and see it from below,
take the cable car that transports tourists to the top of the ski jump,
From the viewing terrace, you can admire the panoramic view of the surrounding area – exactly from the spot where the ski jumpers take off.
It's a great spot for a short afternoon trip or as a stopover on your way to the mountains.
2. Nowa Osada ski slope – 750 metres from the Vistula Valley
For skiers and snowboarders, this will be the biggest advantage of the location.
Approximately 750 metres there is a ski resort near the cottages New Settlement – one of the most popular slopes in Wisła, with a chairlift, trails of varying difficulty and infrastructure for families.
In winter:
you can practically „jump on your skis” without a long journey,
it's easy to return to the cottage for a break, lunch, a change of clothes,
It is a good place for both beginners and intermediate learners.
After a day on the slopes, return to the cottage, dinner at full kitchen and an evening in the sauna or hot tub – that's the atmosphere.
3. Wisła town centre and pedestrian zone – approx. 4 km
From the Wisła Valley, it is approximately 10 minutes to the centre of Wisła (near the market square, Skiing Museum and boulevards). 4 kilometres, which is a few minutes by car.
In the city centre, it is worth:
take a walk promenade with cafés, restaurants and shops,
take a look at Skiing Museum,
Take a stroll along the river – it's a good option for a quiet, „lazy” day or afternoon after skiing.
If you don't like crowds on a daily basis, but still want to be able to „pop into town”, this distance is the perfect compromise.
4. Walks in the vicinity of the cottages – without moving the car
You don't always have to head straight for the high mountains.
Right in the vicinity of the Vistula Valley, you will find:
calm roads and paths along the Vistula River,
green areas good for a short walk with a coffee,
routes ideal for outings with children or dogs.
This is a great option for:
start-up on the first day after arrival,
an evening stroll after a day of skiing,
a quick „clear your head” when you don't feel like going anywhere further.
5. Trails and excursions in the Silesian Beskids – within a short drive
The Vistula Valley is not located directly at the trailhead, but consider it as base of operations. Within a short distance, you will find:
direction towards Barania Góra – one of the classics of the region,
routes towards Stożka, Soszowa, Czantorii and the Salmopolska Pass, from where many interesting trails start,
the possibility of combining a car trip with longer and shorter walking tours.
This allows you to:
once a „typical mountain” day,
once „city + walks”,
Once „skiing and sauna” – and in three days you can enjoy completely different forms of relaxation.
6. Relaxation „on site” – sauna, hot tub and fully equipped kitchen
Sometimes the biggest attraction is... the lack of attractions 😉
In other words:
normal cooking in full kitchen,
a leisurely coffee in the lounge,
evening in sauna or garden tub,
cutting yourself off from noise and running from point to point.
The Vistula Valley is meant to be just such a place: you can do a lot outdoors, but you can also just sit in your cottage and relax.
